Professional Area Rug Cleaning
Did your grandma have one of those old-fashioned rug beaters? In the old days, folks would take their rugs outside, drape it over a branch and knock the dust out of it with a flat paddle. It’s a lot of work and isn’t all that effective, but the idea is right. Even with regular cleaning and vacuuming, your area rugs need regular cleaning to stay looking their best, especially if you have expensive Oriental or Turkish rugs. Their delicate fibers need professional cleaning to survive and become treasured family heirlooms.
We take rug cleaning so seriously at Langenwalter, we actually come pick the rug up from your home and take them to our facility. There, we’ll inspect them thoroughly for any holes, discoloration, bleeding or other discoloration. We’ll mark this down so you can be sure we returned your carpet to you in better shape than you gave it to us.
When we’re ready to get started, we place your rug on a raised grid that allows dirt to fall away from the backing. Then, we pull out one of our favorite carpet cleaning tools: The RugBadger. Besides having a great name, The RugBadger is an amazing state-of-the-art tool which cleans your rug with 40,000 vibrations per minute. That acts as your modern day “rug beater,” knocking out all the dirt, hair and other debris that has built up over the years. Even with regular vacuuming, it’s amazing how much can build up in your rug.
Once we’ve knocked the dirt out, we vacuum both the front and the back of the rug. The quality and health of the backing is just as—if not more—important than the front. Debris in the backing can lead to scratches on the surface the rug lays on, plus overall structural issues with the rug. But we’re just getting started.
The next step is to steam clean your rug, much as we would the carpets in your home. Steam cleaning your rug includes paying special attention to your fringe, carefully and delicately cleaning those hard-to-reach areas. We’ll then extract the water left behind from the cleaning process and dry it with our professional dehumidifiers and drying tools. Your rug will be completely dried before it comes back to you.
Once your rug is set, then it’s time to give it one last inspection to make sure it meets our high standards. Finally, we’ll wrap your rug in paper to keep it clean and return it right to your door. Often, it looks like a whole new rug!
Don’t forget to give your area rugs a little TLC; they’re a big investment and can be treasured possessions. To schedule your Indianapolis rug cleaning today, contact Langenwalter.
