Fight Back Against Football Sunday Stains

On Sunday we cannot wait to turn on the TV and watch football all day long. And what is football on a Sunday without family, friends and lots of food? Oh yeah, we’re talking about snacks galore! Chips and dip, buffalo wings, pigs in a blanket, the list goes on and on. But when there are loads of snacks and dipping sauces around there are bound to be spills and stains. Here’s how to take care of those pesky stains on football Sunday.

It’s all fun and games until someone drops a chicken wing covered in ooey, gooey barbeque sauce on your beautiful carpet. Before you go from yelling at the TV to yelling at your guest, take a deep breath. We have a plan of attack. Go grab Langenwalter’s spot remover, a clean, white or neutral colored towel and some white paper towels. If you’ve got these items in your home, you should be good to go. Pick the chicken wing up off of the floor. Take some paper towels and try to wipe up as much of the sauce as you can. Don’t try and rub the stain, just gently wipe up what you can. After you have taken care of the surface sauce, it’s time to attack the residue that sank into your carpet fibers.

Bust out Langenwalter’s spot remover and blot the stain once. One of the great features about our spot remover is that you don’t need to use a lot to get a stain out. Other spot removers will instruct you to saturate the stain, but not us. After you have applied the spot remover to the stain, wait a few minutes to let the solution sink into the carpet fibers and work its magic. Then, take your plain white, or neutral colored towel, and blot the stain. Be very gentle, you don’t want to push the stain further into the carpet. Dab the stain a few times then stop. Leave it alone. Don’t touch it. Don’t even look at it (just kidding, you can look at it). But don’t immediately start adding more spot remover on the stain (remember what we said about saturating the stain?). If the stain is still present after a few minutes of drying time, try the method again. If the stain was a real doozy and doesn’t look like it’s coming out any time soon, give us a call.

Sometimes you just need to leave the heavy duty stains to the professionals, and that’s OK! We have a team of highly skilled, certified technicians who are ready to tackle any stain in your home. Don’t let sloppy stains ruin your Sunday or the football game. Call your friends at Langenwalter at 317-876-9944 or visit our website to schedule your next appointment!
