The harder you scrub, whether you are using a washcloth or paper towel, the greater the possibility you will cause damage to the carpet fibers. Gently blotting the stain is the best approach. After you have blotted the stain simply leave it alone. Let the spot cleaner do its thing and break down the stains and dirt deposits. Also, do not combine the Langenwalter spot cleaner with any other commercial cleaner. The results could produce hazardous fumes or damage your carpet.

Use a Water/Vinegar Mixture

If you’re considering using any sort of chemicals on your carpet the only other cleaning solution we recommend is a mixture of one part water and one part vinegar. Any of those other crazy homemade concoctions you’ll find on the Internet may not be good for you carpet. This is the safest solution to use other than our spot remover. Combine the ingredients in an empty spray bottle and use it just as you would your regular spot remover. Remember, use as little pressure as possible when blotting the stain. You do not want to scrub the stain. It will only lead to carpet fiber damage.
